Der Konvoi für Sonntag hatte drei wichtige Vorgaben: Schöne kurvige Strecken, ein interessantes Ziel und natürlich leckeres Eis unterwegs. Für alles konnte gesorgt werden.
Nach einer kurzen Rundtour durch die Ortsteile meiner Heimatgemeinde Schwalmtal fuhren wir auf attraktiven Nebenstrecken nach Merken bei Düren, wo das Eiscafé Cappuccino ein wahrer Geheimtipp ist! Mit fast vierzig Personen brachten wir das Team allerdings ganz schön ins Schwitzen.
The Sunday convoy hat three prerequisites: Nice bendy roads, an intereting destination and of course some tasty ice cream on the way. Everything could be catered for.
After taking a quick round trip through all the wards of my home town Schwalmtal, we drove on scenic country lanes to Merken near Düren, where the “Eiscafé Cappuccino” is a real insiders’ tip! But with about 40 people, we were a real challenge to the team.
Kommen wir nun also zu den kurvigen Strecken. Was liegt näher, als durch die Eifel zu fahren? Am Rursee entlang und über Berg und Tal führte der Weg nach Monschau, wo wir die Niederrhein-Tour mit einer Besichtigung der historischen Senfmühle und den traditionellen Linner im dazugehörigen Restaurant „Schnabuleum“ ausklingen ließen.
So what about the bendy roads then? Why, let’s go and drive through the Eifel region then! Along the Rursee lake and over hills and valleys our route was leading to Monschau. There the Niederrhein Tour was finished with a visit to the historic mustard mill and our traditional linner in the adjacent Restaurant “Schnabuleum”.
