Vom Verkehrsübungsplatz in Jülich führte uns unsere Route über die Höhen zwischen Rur und Wurm nach Geilenkirchen und von dort weiter zum Café aan de Müehle in Gangelt-Breberen. Eine wirklich einmalige Location, hatte man uns doch die alte Mühle als Imbissraum hergerichtet, die MGs durften dahinter auf der Wiese parken.
From the training ground in Jülich we drove across the heights between the Roer and Wurm rivers to Geilenkirchen and on to Gangelt-Breberen. There we met at the Café aan de Müehle, a really special location. The old mill was decorated for us to be used as a coffee room, our MGs could be parked behind the mill on the green.
Die Schlussetappe der Tour wurde auch wegen eines Fahrrad-Events aufgehalten (in Holland, wer hätte es gedacht). Aber schließlich kamen alle Teilnehmer gut an der Lüttelforster Mühle in Schwalmtal an. Hier war unser Linner geplant und später kamen noch einige von Susannes und meinen anderen Freunden dazu, um dann eine feine Geburtstagsparty zu feiern.
Viele Mitfahrer übernachteten auch in der Mühle und wir trafen uns am nächsten Morgen noch zum Frühstück, bevor er wieder auf die Heimreise ging.
The final part of the tour was also interrupted by another bike event, this time in Holland (who’d have thought that!). But eventually, all participants made it safely to the Lüttelforster Mühle in Schwalmtal. Here we had our traditional linner and later we were joined by some of Susanne’s and my other friends for a great birthday party.
A good number of MG people stayed the night at the “Mühle” and so we met again for breakfast the next morning before everyone set off back home again.
